Description
A Journey Through Tradition and Modernity:
The incredible country Japan plays host to one of Asia’s most dynamic cultures. Home to serene mountain villages and vibrant megacities alike, Japan is where the world of traditional and super-modern collide – its cultural common denominator is an aura of order and balance. For visitors, Japan is both a destination of spectacular natural scenery and urban wonder, with enough history and heritage to fill a lifetime of travel.
Since reopening its doors around 150 years ago, the densely populated islands have developed in leaps and bounds and much of the country is now covered by sprawling neon-lit cities and the world’s most sophisticated public transport networks.
The modern metropolises are dotted with numerous ancient shrines and temples, while the countryside is riddled with hundreds of volcanoes and hot springs overlooking pastoral paddy fields. Parks are festooned with rigidly raked white gravel Zen gardens or coated with layers of lilac and cherry blossom.
Prepare for an extraordinary odyssey through Japan, a land where the echoes of ancient traditions resonate alongside the pulse of modernity. Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Japanese culture, where each destination unfolds a new chapter in this captivating story.
